Re: Peanut Butter and Jelly

Peanut Butter and Jelly is how all pro athletes became pro. Without it you are doomed to a life of being average.

Re: Peanut Butter and Jelly

If you say jelly here it means the stuff that you guys call jello which sounds like an even worse combination.

Re: Peanut Butter and Jelly

1 part Slighty thawed frozen blackberries or raspberries
1 part natural PB or almond butter

Mix to desired consistency
Honey to taste - really good stuff!

About a month ago, I stopped eating the PB&J and replaced it with a portion of chicken or beef and some berries. I made some other reductions in the bread/pasta and sugar consumption, but nothing drastic. I changed nothing about my workout regimen, except that I am more limited as a result of an elbow injury. I don't have a scale, but I've lost some significant body fat just from those changes. I'm a belt loop tighter on both the belts I usually wear and I have to wear one with the shorts I'm wearing now or they will fall off as I walk around the house. A month ago I could comfortably wear them with no support. I have a 5k run route that I do every couple of weeks, and without extra running I shaved 27 seconds off my per mile pace when I ran it this past week. I'm convinced that PB&J wasn't helping me at age 36.
You sure it wasn't the Bread and pasta that caused teh change?

Re: Peanut Butter and Jelly

The bread and pasts had a lot to do with it. So did the sugar, which PB&J is stocked with. If you personally mash up some nuts and fruit, mix it up and eat it I would think that would be fine. Of course, it would be no different than eating fruit and nuts normally, except without the chewing.
