Re: GHD Situps

true, but Chris Mason talked about doing sit ups with a foam roller under his back. That seems like full ROM to me. If you look at the westside youtube videos and elitefts videos, people are going through a pretty long ROM when they're doing their ab work.

Re: GHD Situps

If you'd prefer to learn about ab strength from Louie than from competitive gymnasts, you're on the right track. He is training to keep the midline perfectly straight, as any powerlifter should.

Is that your only goal? If you plan on learning any gymnastics or athletic movement that requires midline flexibility, you will be woefully deficient. Swings and flips on any gymnastics apparatus, many movements in martial arts and grappling, along with general mobility will beg for more dynamic "ab" movements than just standing and crunching/pulling: enter GHD sit-up, L-Hold, Leg Lift, V-Up, Backflip, and all the other gems that everybody seems to think are unneccesary to train. Jacks of all trades you are not if you are neglecting any of the above.

Suprised HQ blocks direct links to websites that publicly attack CrossFit? Please. We all know most of those sites are fantastic resources for specialized information, but they are certainly not respectful of these forums.
