19 HS football players get rhabo at the same time

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/highs...ory?id=5483568 WFS

"Superintendent Maryalice Russell told The Oregonian newspaper she doesn't believe Kearin's workout was excessive. She also said she has no evidence steroids or supplements were involved."

I wonder what movements this trainer was having them do.

One of the commenters said pushups and dips to failure, then assisted pushups and dips after that. In a 115 degree room.

Fire the coach then. He has coached at this level before and should know what the hell to do. One player coming down with with it, stuff happens. 19? The coach should be held responsible.

Working out at high intensity in a 115 degree room without adequate breaks and making sure players stay hydrated?

Re: 19 HS football players get rhabo at the same time

The kicker is that apparently there were several boys who came down with Rhabdo who were NOT at the training session according to the USA Today article I read today. Makes it all that much more weird if that's true.

This story is how internet legends begin. By next week it will be the whole team that fell ill, caused by the coach handing out the steroid called creatine.

Compartment syndrome is not rhabdo.

Sounds like some had rhabdo, some had CS.
