First, great site. I've been doing GPP workouts for awhile to supplement my weight training, but it's always nice to stumble on new ideas and routines.
Anyway, to my question. I did "Tabata This" for the first time on Saturday and I seemed to fall short on rowing. My best 20 second set was 6 calories. I noticed in the example scoring in the FAQ, they listed 12? HOW?? Do machines vary that much or was I just not rowing hard enough? Input would be appreciated! |

Not rowing hard enough/efficient enough. You also might try a different damper setting.

Anthony,
Have you rowed before? When I started rowing, my technique on the concept2 was about as terrible as my diet. I got better at rowing, by rowing. Go to the concept2 site, if you can, and look at the technique video-it helped me alot. The biggest problem I was having was letting my arms bend, through the pull. Keep your back straight, head up, arms locked and drive through the heels. I am at the point I might even kinda like rowing. Maybe? Good Luck |

I've rowed on the water about 15 years ago, but this was the first time using the machine.
I did try different damper settings (assuming the 1-10 setting is the "damper") and it didn't seem to make any difference in resistance. I'll check out the site mentioned above. Thanks! |
