CF Games 2009

Y'all saw this, right?

Quote:
The official dates for the 2009 CrossFit Games will be July 11-12, 2009.

The exact format of the Games will not be announced until July. It is likely to be quite different from the 2008 format.

The 2009 Games will not be open enrollment. There will be no scaling. You must qualify to enter. Adequate performance in the 2008 Games will count. There will be a series of qualifying events around the country (world) in May, 2009.

More details to follow here over the coming months.

Agreed!

Well... that give us 7 months to prepare and find a place to qualify, then maybe 4-6 weeks of additional ramping/tweaking for the actual Games!

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how the qualifier events work, locations, timing, etc. Hopefully they are accessible to those of us in Canada.

Re: CF Games 2009

Tony - I'd bet CF Vancouver or one of the bigger gyms in CA will host the qualifier.

I'm pretty excited.

Anthony-
Since you were top 20, I'd think you would be a qualifier based on your '08 Games performance... but I can understand you WANTING to compete in May, just to get the blood flowing again and get a barometer of your vs "their" performance.

Re: CF Games 2009

I'm hopeful that is the case, but I don't want to make assumptions. There's also the case of Jodi's qualifying. We'll see how it all plays out, but regardless, I think it's going to be the best version yet.

Re: CF Games 2009

7 months of waiting/training. There's a very strong likelihood I may go insane from all the speculation and anticipation.
