Late Night Cravings

Anyone,
I finally broke down and started Zoning Friday.
I wake up in the middle of the night with phenomenal food cravings.
And yes, I get a Zone perfect snack pre bedtime. Is this normal when first starting? Will it go away?

Nevermind,
I got a little impatient and spouted off before drilling down into the archives. I found some old posts that answered my ?'s.

When you say "Zone perfect snack" - I hope you don't mean the Zone Perfect snack bars. If you did, that explains it right there, what with their high sugar content and all.

If you just meant a perfect Zone snack (as in it was perfectly dialed in), then you may want to add an extra block or up the fat and protein content. I've found adding extra fiber from ground Flax seed (or something similar) keeps me feeling rather full all night.

Try different things and see which works for you. And stay away from the "Zone Perfect" snacks - they're okay in a pinch, but not good to eat often.

Aw geez, and I spent all that time writing a response.

Good luck! I found Zone hard at first, but after a few weeks it became second nature.

Re: Late Night Cravings

No problem Ivan, your insight is appreciated. I'm always using the wrong jargon. My zone perfect snack was an apple, 2 oz's of string cheese, and 6 wasabi alomonds.
I'll stick with it like you recommend. I bought some smore's pop tarts for when my 10 yr old comes over this weekend. Hopefully they won't become victim at 3AM!
