I took a look at your site. Your basement looks almost exactly like mine does. I gave up early on figuring out how to make that work in a basement and took over the garage instead. Where do you plan on hanging your rope? I don't know what your budget is, but I would move up the timetable of obtaining a rower considering some of the space issues/logistics you have. Thanks for sharing. |

Re: Post pics of your home/garage gym
Hey Mike. You are welcome for the post and I appreciate the advice on the rower. I plan on putting the rope in the garage along with another pull-up bar towards the ceiling. My garage is 11' but the way my roof is made I am going to cut into the ceiling and extend to the rafters. Our laundry room is upstairs off of our MB and butts against the roof over the garage. When I am on the roof I can step up onto the roof over our laundry room from the garage roof so I know there is a lot of space in there that is wasted. I will go in from the laundry room then cut the hole in the ceiling of the garage from there. That is also where I will hang my rings from. I will post pics of this project. I am hoping Spring/Summer so I can insulate before next winter.

Re: Post pics of your home/garage gym
You can add me to the club. I'm 43 and just started crossfitting a few months ago. I sometimes work out at a globo gym, but I am outfitting a home gym. So far I have 6, 10, and 20 lb med balls (home made), a light barbell and a few weights, a doorjam pull up bar (putting one up in the backyard soon), I use a folded towel as an abmat. I am about to make some homegrown kettlebells and rings.

Re: Post pics of your home/garage gym
Here is my home Gym. I custom fabricated the pull up rack, Bumper plate rack and a Dip station that attaches to the rack and the boxes. I am currently building a Rogue S1-1 style squat stand to have an extra station for squats. I also have a rower not shown
