More Burpees!

Yet another specific form Q:

I have the tendency to pop up from the push up position onto my toes and continue the motion into a jump, especially as I fatigue. Is this legal, or should I be landing flat-footed and thrusting off of my heels every rep?

It lets me get my feet under me more quicky and keep them closer together, I'm assuming. Maybe a flexibility problem? I squat (esp. overhead) quite wide. I've never really looked at it closely, just noticed it today during the 1/2 Sissy test.

Re: More Burpees!

Most people cannot land on their feet with a back arch with hands on the ground. That would require a huge amount of flexibility. I've used dumbbells with extended ROM on the push-ups and explosive push-ups which allow you to get to a squat position faster and with seemingly better form. I got the idea for explosive push-ups from the Sevan vs. Jolie videos.

Oh yeah, and doing only half of the Sissy test is self-defeating.

Re: More Burpees!

Yeah, I wanted to do the whole thing, but my dad convinced me to only do half of it since I'm just getting over a cold, and am visiting Caltech for a few days Thursday (wants me to be at my best when deciding on a college). Every time I get a cold it turns into bronchitis and stays for at least 2 weeks. Ridiculous. I'm starting to think I need to plan my day around at least 10 hours of sleep. I've started doing nearly everything suggested in your "sick of being sick" thread.

Do think about being sick think about how Well you are instead. Don't let your subconscious run your health and fitness.
