I just started using crossfit and the WOD. I did yesterdays WOD since today was a rest day. I'm looking forward to doing the WOD's because it seems everyone has great results. I've beeen doing convention, isolation type excercises in the gym for awhile now and I'm not seeing the results that I had hoped for, even though I spend an hour plus everytime I go.

The only question I have for now (I'm sure I'll have more later) is should I just do the WOD or continue to do my gym routine as well. Along with the gym I try to run 3 times a week 4-6 miles a sessions.

Thank you and I'm looking forward to crossfit.

--------------------------------------------
My first WOD- deadlifts 1-1-1-1-1-1-1

1-135
2-205 (fail)
3-155
4-165
5-175
6-185
7-195
8-205 (got it the second try)

First time I've done deadlifts, I practice my form after the 8 sets, hopefully I'm doing it right and I don't wake up with a sore back tomorrow.

Charles,
Drop the gym routines. I think you'll like the results.

Charles,
My wife and I dropped out "normal" gym routines and running and adopted the WOD's without fail. We are going on 4 weeks now and the results are awesome.
We've both been athletically inclined all our lives and have been lifting (pseudo-bodybuilding) and running for years, but 4 weeks of WODs have gotten us into the best shape and condition ever!
The only thing we haven't changed is our MA training. Even when the CrossFit workout has to immediately follow our MA training.
Go with just the WOD's for a while and see what happens.

Thanks for the advice. I'm definately going to use it and just do the WOD, and then some of the standard military bw exercises.
I'm also working on running a half marathon so I think I'm going to stick with my running routine as well as the WOD's. Of course I've only seen the past few days WOD's so maybe they cover running as well.

Thanks again
