Re: Leptin - Does anyone know about this hormone?

So I've been trying to do a little more research. R.Wolf has answered some questions on Leptin it seems, but I cannot find his definitive answer as he finishes with "I'll have to do more research" after he expressed his thoughts. It was interesting to note, though, that he once mentioned that low-carb diets only cause drops in leptin levels if they're also calorie restricted... but apparently low-carb diets not calorie-restricted don't.. ??? Would love to find more info on this.

Lyle McDonald has written on Leptin as well:
WFS Part 1: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat...in-part-1.html

WFS Part 2: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat...in-part-2.html

Also Robb's Paleolithic Solution Podcast 19, he answers a question on Leptin.... funny, the conclusion he states is that noone really knows for sure. LOL.

Re: Leptin - Does anyone know about this hormone?

I guess noone in here is interested in Leptin, but I have kept researching a little bit here and there...

WFS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLXuCUq4qSQ

This guy does appear to sell some vitamins or whatever on his Website, I'm not too sure. But he explains how Leptin works on this video in a wonderful, understandable way. (And hopefully truthful).

I'm trying to listen to more of his videos to see what this "The Leptin Diet" consists of. So far he talks about 5 rules...
1. Eat your latest meal at least 3 hours before bed.
2. Don't snack, eat just 3 meals.
3. Don't eat very large meals.
4. Reduce carbs somewhat (not really low-carb, he describes it), and
5. Eat something with protein for breakfast.

So far I don't think any of those 5 rules is bad. Although I don't know what he considers a large meal.

Anyways, this Leptin thing is interesting to me as many of the things described in the video apply to me. I have some injuries that no amount of fish oil and clean eating have healed... so maybe, just maybe, this is an issue. Who knows.
