Shoe Info Request...

So I'm looking for a new pair of shoes. I've been CFing for about 16 months now, got my L1 cert, and am doing POSE running drills and short distances frequently because I'm weaker on the run stuff.

However, I have some Asics with a lot of heel on them and I want to get away from that because it messes up the POSE running technique. I've read a ton on the boards about shoes, to include:

(wfs http://www.board.crossfit.com/showth...yweight&page=1)

So I wanted to put up a poll to finally get some hard data on who likes what and why. Please vote. This is for all-around CFing though, not just running. So if you think VFF is great for running but bad for thrusters (for whatever reason) then please don't vote for that one.

Thanks so much, here's pics (at least five of them b/c I can't put all 9 b/c of board rules) and links (all wfs) for the poll.

I have these (wfs) http://www.footlocker.com/catalog/pr...Froogle-_-null and like them a lot, but those Adidas Goodyear's look pretty sweet. I might have to try those out.

Re: Shoe Info Request...

I (finally) got some Nike Free 7.0 shoes for Christmas 2007.

So far: I love them. I don't think I'd use/own anything else (although I'd be willing to try similar, competing products).

Prior to the Nike Frees, I tried wrestling shoes and fairly typical cross-trainer type shoes. Nike Frees win hands down. Light, form-fitting, and comfy!

I liked the Nike Free when I first got them, but stones in between the sole got annoying. I also decided that they were too squishy for weightlifting. After wearing the Vibram FFs I have no interest in the Nike Free anymore.

Re: Shoe Info Request...

I love my H-streets. Took me a while to get used to, but I wear them for every workout now...runs, oly, met-con... doesn't matter. The sole is thin enough to where it doesn't squish too much on squats, and they feel stable to me. I want oly lifting shoes, but it's just because I'm an equipment junkie, not because the h-streets are inadequate.

Hmm. I might have to give them a try -- although one disadvantage is the simple fact that they look weird. (I can at least wear my Nikes to work...)

However, I am pretty much sold in general on shoes that are as unobtrusive as possible. So, can you give someone the Bird with those Five-fingers?

Re: Shoe Info Request...

I just got Chuck Taylor's and love them for lifting. I haven't done much Met-Con in them but I think they'll be fine.

I'm really digging the fingers! Does anyone have a pair? How are they?

First, any "shoe" thread has my interest.

Second... call me a girl, but those Vibrams would have to triple my pull-ups, teach me to clean and do my taxes before I'd wear them out in public.

Re: Shoe Info Request...

For what it's worth from a CF newb, my family has always been into running, even me during all my fat years. And for running, we don't think you can beat Asics, although the Nike Free has some loyal users I hear.

For days that are only lifts, I've been wearing some Century Taekwondo shoes. Gives a good feel for balance.

That's what you say now (along with my girl friend) but in a few years, you'll be wearing them to high society events. I'm kind of like a rap star. I do rediculous things and before you know they are trendy.
