From searching on the word bowflex, I found that some people here hate it.

Im just curios to why? Do you think it is overpriced? Or low quality? Have you seen one that has broken down?

I've always thought it had a value for quick moves where momentium would be an issue with free weights.

Couldn't it be used for some of the WOD exercises?

Please don't think I am being disrespectful with this post. I am only stating my opinion.

I really don't believe that using a bowflex (or any other machine) can/will offer the benefits of freeweights or just bodyweight.

Is it overpriced? YES, especially when you can perform hundreds of better exercises with a simple set of dumbbells.

Low quality? YES, freeweights will last a lifetime. I have a friend who purchased a bowflex dispite my preaching against it. He wanted to get "in shape". He had me come over to evaluate it. My opinion, JUNK. Now it sits in his bedroom and he hangs clothing on it. By the way, he's selling it.

I can't see much value in the bowflex if you look at the "big picture". I am confused by the momentum issue with free weights vs. the bowflex. I guess that in bodybuilding that might play some role.

I would love to see twins do a study. One performs CF for 3 months, the other Bowflex. My $ is on CF for overall performance/health/aesthetics.
