Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Nobody seems to take people's goals into consideration. What about the people who just want to look good. Are they vain because of wanting to have a healthy-looking body?

Jesus, if it weren't for my men's health days I would have never exercised at all!

Right. Once when I was off-topic in a thread, I remember being told to fly off with my cape to go protect another group of people who actually needed protecting.

Nobody knows what the others' goals are in the gym. People who curl in a squat rack, when there is only one available, need to buzz off. Otherwise, curl and bosu away if you have to. But if you look dumb doing it (similar to how I look when doing handstand push ups or burpees), we might laugh and post about it here.

That would pretty much be the definition of vanity.

I agree, I mean I figure doing something is better then nothing in the lines of fitness. But I do think there are better ways to full fitness then some of the things people do.

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Not reall at the globo, but at our gym. Squatting with the bay door open and watched a hawk pretty much hang in the same spot in the air watching the field next to us about 20 to 50 yard up, and dive bomb into the grass after something. The fly off all cool.

Re: Seen at the globo yesterday

Ok, back on track, I witnessed a 5 man team of guys "spotting" speed benches on the smith machine followed by "heavy(being relative, it was 1 plate and a 25) benches. Following the set, the leader would strip the weights off violently and drop them.
I would've said something but I just don't care enough about what other people do other than for the simple amusement purpose of watching trainwrecks.

Hey there is a world record for most pullups in 24 hrs

4,020
Stephen Hyland (GBR)
(attempt ended after 7:50 hours, leaving the rest of the time unused) 23 July 2011
in Stoneleigh, Surrey

Let's see that's about 8 1/2 pullups a minute for 8 hours straight

Here's the full list of chinup/pullup records. Link is Safe for Work/Home
