Which is more difficult

Hello All, this is my first post here. I had a question and was hoping someone might have some insight.

Ok, So I did a workout the other day with 15 Hang Power Cleans and 15 burpees 3 rounds for time in 8:22. Today I tried it again to measure progress but I, "misremembered..." and did power cleans from the floor instead of HPC. My time today was 8:29. My question is could this be considered progress?

It depends...generally people can power clean more weight from the floor than they can hang power clean, because coming off the floor they have the first pull to build vertical speed on the bar. But if you're doing it low weight and high reps, you're going to spend a little more time doing a touch and go with the bar off the floor than it would take to simply do it from the hang.

So if the heaviness of the weight is a factor, you may be able to do that workout faster pulling each one off the floor. But if it's lighter weight you'll probably be faster doing a hang power clean.

Oh, ok, thanks man! That answered it. 135# or 57% of max weight.
