Displaying a flag

How do you display American flag, state flag, then service flags on the wall?

Re: Displaying a flag

I'm glad you asked. I've got some flags displayed in my home gym, and just realized that I was doing it wrong. I'm an eagle scout and served in the Army four years, and still didn't know all the rules on flag display.

Here are a couple websites with details on flag display (all wfs): (official US flag code)

The paragraph that probably pertains most to your question:
When flown with flags of states, communities, or societies, the flag of the United States is always placed in the position of honor - to its own right.
..The other flags may be smaller but none may be larger.
..No other flag ever should be placed above it.
Other guidelines state the US flag should be centered. So center your US flag, or start with it on the observer's left. Other flags (state, military) should be the same size or smaller, at the same level or lower. Other national flags should be the same size, on the same level.
