Post Motivation?

I would really really love to get into crossfit, but honestly my biggest struggle is staying motivated in any fitness. I was blessed with good genes and my body is that of a 2 year advocate, and maybe this is keeping me from being motivated. I don't feel great and thats my biggest reason for getting into fitness.

Please if you have any tips for motivation let me know!

Re: Motivation?

no one can motivate you... if you are comfortable and content with yourself as you are then my words are a waste of time...

if onthe otherhand you would like to challenge yourself to be as good as you can be then CF has its own reward... and that reward is motivating.
CF is fun, challenging , sometimes frustrating ,sometimes heavenly and never ever boring
.. its a great community too
cheers

H

Re: Motivation?

Wow, that was slightly over-opinionated. No one is a waste of time. SOme people just need more help.

Also, maybe I don't like feeling unmotivated. My question still remains. And i'm sure that there are other elite athletes out there who had my same problem to start.

Anyone else please? With something useful and kind to say this time please?

Also, I appreciate your words. Just not really helpful for MY situations.

Re: Motivation?

And I apologize for my comment about you being slightly over-opinionated. I mis-read your post and I thought you said that I was a waste of time if I was content with myself.

Yikes... What a great welcome response from me in joining the forum, huh? lol

Anyway thanks for the tips. Still there's gotta be things to help initate motivation.

Re: Motivation?

join an affiliate, there are a TON of them in cali, so you should have your pick. Get involved with the community at your gym, participate in both fun and serious competitions in the area. If working toward a competition goal doesn't motivate you, nothing will.

ETA: oh also, it might not be crossfit, you may find yourself leaning toward endurance, MMA, parkour/movnat, powerlifting, or oly lifting... either way, figure out what you are passionate about, and it shouldn't be too hard to get yourself excited about that thing.

Re: Motivation?

Ditto. Crossfit may be your thing that you can't get enough of, or it may not. Try it out for a month and find out. You may find something else to be passionate about, there are countless ways to stay fit.

Re: Motivation?

The best way to get fit is to find a physical activity that you enjoy. That might be Crossfit, but there are plenty of other options out there.

Re: Motivation?

Motivation is the same for every endeavour in life. There has to be a reason. A "why". And it has to be important to you.

So why do you want to get fit and how may crossfit serve this purpose?

Re: Motivation?

You're all pretty much saying the same thing. It must be true. My why is to quit feeling like crap, but I think because I feel like crap I don't have the motivation to do anything. I just think i've gotten to used to feeling like crap.

I feel like if only someone would shake me I could snap out of it. I do truly want to feel healthy. Just no push behind my feet.
