I'm a newby here, but I thought this might help. I've read through some of the archives and learned how to make a set of rings, which I've done. I also saw where guys were braiding their own rope, etc for climbing. In my part of the country, any auto parts store will carry a tow rope; I've got two tow/climbing ropes both about 1 1/2 to 2". I've had a couple of these for 20 plus years.
