skipping ropes

are all the crossfit skipping ropes made from steel wire?
Obsessed is a word the lazy use to decribe the dedicated.

Not sure about "all" but all the ones I've seen are, even the cheaper ones from online marketplaces. When I was cutting my first one to the proper length, I was surprised actually that it was several strands of wire inside.

Nope, I've got a Buddy Lee Aero speed rope that isn't wire cable.

No. Cable ropes are for speed work. Fast bounces and skipping.

Plain old licorice type ropes ( plastic) are fine.

Leather turns so so

Beaded are slower yet.

Im no pro jumper- I still cant get a double under, but I dont like the cable wire ropes. They twist and tangle and wear down and break. I actually got one tangled in the back of my shorts the other day, couldnt get it out, when I FINALLY did, it was so twisted I couldnt even use it! I think Ill look for plastic...
