Jogger who'se gear shut down post office in San Jose (Crossfit gear)

Quote:
Word to the wise: Maybe it's not the smartest thing to jog in what looks like a gas mask and body armor, and then jam a package in a post office box.

It could touch off what happened Tuesday at the busy San Jose post office on Lundy Avenue: a full-scale police response, complete with the bomb squad and a robot.

About 12 weeks ago, Hoang became an avid follower of the CrossFit exercise regimen, which he said, exuberantly, combines "this really creative combination of weight lifting, gymnastics and rowing." He wears the mask to simulate high-altitude training. Hoang, who is 5 feet 4 inches, said he's lost at least 20 pounds, and is now 142 pounds.

Two of the Marines in my platoon got arrested for something similar to this. They checked out rubber training rifles, threw gas masks on and went for a run in boots in utes right through the middle of a civilian neighborhood.

My RSM would go completely nuts if we pulled this stunt - I suspect it would probably kill him he'd just explode.

Second thoughts a soldier couldn't be that lucky, I could see a great deal of cleaning, polishing, painting, parading and general suffering ensuing.

In AUS the Army is very particular about uniforms being worn outside of duty hours, some units will make you travel to and from in civies (I have only heard this, never actually seen so may be an army myth) Mind you we completely ignore this and train in DPCU's all the time in civilian areas - well away from base.
