Re: Foundations Curriculum

Wow!! I didn't expect this kind of interest for a presentation like this. I kind of assumed most people had already had something similar (a "canned" presentation), but I suppose not everybody is gthe uber-geek (like me).

Just a quick update: we are midway through our seminar (or "familiarization" in military parlance, as there can be no formal qualification granted), and it is going very well. We are on schedule (we have 2 instructors and between 8 and 10 students: people have to duck out on occasion to conduct administration, as they are getting ready for a deployment overseas). We have been focussing on the basics (probably too much, in some of the younger guys minds, but I want to hammer the science and the basics into them before we hit them with both barrels (a mini-Cindy (10 minutes) and "Fran" this afternoon, and Fight GOne Bad to finish off tomorrow). Our schedule can easily be modified to a 2 day one, if you are willing to remove nutrition and warm-up/intensity issues, but we felt they were critical. Not sure how this could all translate into a multi-week (i.e " few hours here, a few hours there" approach).

Anyway, I am still waiting on CFHQ's approval to distribute the CFJ content. If it's a no-go, I can provide what I have, with links to where to get the content (assuming you have the CFJ's in question) that I utilized. May not be pretty, or easy, but that's life in general, right?!?!?

Re: Foundations Curriculum

We just opened our doors to the public this past Monday. I already have had requests for providing "workshops" for local volunteer firefighters, a state assoc. for S.W.A.T. officers, and some local Mil. personnel. You presentation would be a huge asset. If you get permission, I would love a copy.

Bill, may I ask how you got that far with the FFs and LEOs? How did you approach them and so on?

Thanks!
