obstacle course?

I have access to just about an unlimited number of power poles that crews have pulled, and I own enough acreage that space isn't a problem. Seriously considering making an obstacle course with enough variation that it would be challenging for a seasoned crossfitter, but also fun/safe for a kid. Let's hear some good ideas on what to build and how to lay it out.

Re: obstacle course?

Got liability insurance for anyone other than family? Cause it seems it would be a big medical payment settlement otherwise.

I think your twin goals are irreconcilable without a very elaborate belay or safety line system. Otherwise, everything would need to be sufficiently low to the ground that a fall wouldn't be dangerous and that pretty much limits your course to horizontal movements and rules out any type of climbing.

But good luck. It sounds like an awesome idea/project.

Re: obstacle course?

I'm thinking the same thing... I may have to put a small, easy obstacle next to every large one. My daughter (8yrs) loves to follow me around and mimic my workouts and I suspect that this would be no exception. I just don't want her to have to bypass 3/4 of them without having an alternative.

Re: obstacle course?

What about the Marine O-course? I bet you could find directions on how to put it together, and its very crossfit friendly, plus a ton of fun.

Re: obstacle course?

I was just about to suggest that. We have one on base and run through occasionally. Good course.

Re: obstacle course?

Check out the CrossFit North County Facebook page. I have some pics in there of a place called the patch. It is a bunch of wood poles made into different appartus's. It is one of the coolest places to workout. I think most of the pics are sequences if my memory serves me correctly.
