MU - turning wrist out at the bottom

anyone have a good training method for doing this at that bottom for a full lock out? do you keep the false grip? i'm pretty good a MU's but i can't seem to be able to keep the false grip if i turn my wrist out.

Yup, keep the false grip.

If you can get to full arm extension without the turnout I wouldn't worry about it. I need to turn out to get there comfortably.

Re: MU - turning wrist out at the bottom

You don't need to turn out unless you don't have full extension of the elbows..... (as stated above)

BUt most people don't have the wrist mobility for that.

Stretch your wrist a bit more if you still need ROM to lock those elbows out.

Re: MU - turning wrist out at the bottom

is it true that for the games you have to turn it out? or its ok as long as the arm is locked out?

How's your box doing Chris?

Re: MU - turning wrist out at the bottom

We went to a competition in Victoria last winter and the standard for MU was turned out. I guess that one depends on the rules for the day. I like the turn out because I use the turning and pulling back in to start my pull and it feels good to me.

Box is going pretty good now. First year and a bit was pretty tough tho.

Re: MU - turning wrist out at the bottom

Do body rows, horizontal pullups with your feet on the floor or a box and turn out while still in false grip.

It should be easier as there will be less weight on the wrists. You could also work just hanging in the turned out false grip but if this is too trying, it's pointless and better to scale back.

Re: MU - turning wrist out at the bottom

Obviously if turned out is required in competition (at least some of them) then it would be a good idea to work it and have good strong wrist mobility to do that just in case.

Worth both basically.
