Re: Randy's CFSB log

AM
______

CFFB Strength WOD - Squat 3x5

Warmup = Bike, Stretch, 45x5

S1(135) - 5
S2(160) - 5 *PR*
S3(160) - 5
S4(160) - 5

Okay, I know it wasn't squat 4x5 but I felt like 135 was more of a warm up. Next time I need to remember to start lower for 2 sets then ramp it up for 3 working sets. Also, since I want to do 1x20 squats at least once a week, I will do that the first time squats come up in the strength WOD that week so I don't wear myself out before I do them.

PM
______

CFFB Main Site WOD - 7 rounds for time of:

3 HSPU (Sub. "jerk" portion of Power Clean and Jerk)
5 Power Clean #185 (Did #115 Power Clean and Jerk to make up for HSPU)
7 Pull Ups Chest To Bar (Sub. regular pullups / jumping if needed)

Time - 16:54

This workout was awesome. Did some jumping pullups because my grip was giving out)

Re: Randy's CFSB log

I took today off for a couple of reasons. For one, I feel like **** because we had a BBQ at work and I ate my bodyweight in meat for time.

The other reason is that I have been inquiring on the Catalyst Athletics forums and around here about advice on my programming. I think I have been asking too much of myself in the way of performance by doing the main site WOD in addition to strength bias. I was asked to define my goals.. Are they to be strong? To be fast? etc. Well, I just want to be a better Crossfitter. So the logical choice would be to, well, CROSSFIT.

That being said I know it looks like I have training ADD. But yes, I am starting now to go back to the 3 on 1 off main site WODs. I think that if I hit the WODs hard and get my nutrition down, I will be able to improve and eventually do the workouts as rx'ed. After all, that was the whole point of me doing strength bias in the first place.

But I am not bashing CFSB! I made huge gains in the 4 weeks I did the program and I do not regret it one bit. I am A LOT closer to being able to do things as rx'ed now! However, without the extra strength workout, I think I will have enough juice now to really crush the WODs. Since it will be my ONLY workout, I will be able to give it my all.

So, thank you CFSB and I will probably look to do another cycle of it somewhere in the future I am sure!

As a note: Since I am currently deployed and in a different time zone than most people, I will be doing the WOD a day late, starting with Eva tomorrow morning. Here we go!
