Ok for empty kegs, but you'll break your wrists trying that technique with a heavy keg. Opposite sides to press a heavy keg are a must.

I skip the shouldering, crossgrip clean right to the chest then readjust hands IF youre pressing with a parallel grip but that is tough when it gets heavy and it also depends on whats in it. Pressing crossgrip is probably the safest way, I would also switch which hand is on the bottom of the keg. I prefer my bottom clean hand to be in the "hand hole" or the keg. Water makes it real tough, lead, gravel or sand are more stable.
