Anyone got any recommendations on doing GHS on one of these?

I find it rather cumbersome without the bottom ankle/foot anchor. Anyone manage to rig something up?

um, grow prehensile toes?

but seriously...if you keep your weight far enough past the pads, you shouldn't fall off the device.

Troy,

I picked one of these up for cheap at a used equipment place and have been doing GHD sit-ups on it for a couple of months. I find that if I scrub the momentum as I'm approaching the top of the movement, and stopping just short of touching the pads, my shins stay in contact with the pads. It's a bit annoying, but allows me to do the CF warm-up and work-outs like Michael from my garage with outside running, versus going to the gym. The trade-off seems worthwhile. I hate treadmills.

The thing was cheap ($50) and it is stable. Some day I'll replace it with a true GHD.

Reducing momentum or range of motion will defeat the purpose of the exercise. No need to go MacGyver -- just push the whole jalopy against a wall so your feet/toes can touch and stabilize as you're approaching the top of the movement. HTH.
