I really like both teams and didn't care much who won but I must say that it seemed to me as if the Steelers benefitted on numerous occassions from some very questionable calls. I think that the outcome very likely would have been different had a couple of those calls gone the way they probably should have.

But that is the way the cookie crumbles and I'm happy for the Steelers and their fans.

I did not care who won. However, the reffing was pathetic. The network and the ref's wanted a Steelers win. I did not witness any 'supreme athleticism' on the part of the Steelers. I haven't seen the stats for the entire game, but the Hawks dominated the 1 st half. The ref's controlled the momentum with the terrible calls.

It's like I tell my sons...be good enough to beat both teams (refs + opponent). For Stevens to have 3 DROPPED BALLS! Bring your A game or don't come. The reffing was pitiful. Go Steelers!!!!

And if the calls had gone for the Steeler's, would you nay sayers still be complaining about the refs? I've waited 26 years for that game and it didn't dissapoint. Blaming it on the officials takes away from the great efforts from both teams.

Must say that the commercials sucked though...

The calls DID go the Steeler's way. I assume that you mean had the calls gone against the Steelers would the nay sayers be complaining about the refs. And yes, I would. I like both teams but the refs were terrible...and only in one direction. Frequently, officiating is poor but it generally goes both ways. In this case the poor officiating benefitted the Steelers on numerous occassions and never benefitted the Seahawks in my opinion.

The game was indeed diminished, not by people blaming the officials but rather the officating. It is, indeed, sad that the officiating has taken the luster off this year's trophy.

There were far more calls against the Seahwaks then the Steelers and some of them were weak, like the pass interference against Seattle in the first half that cost them the TD. But, it was a valid call within the rules. The Seahawks didn't exactly dominate the first half. The Steelers couldn't get anything going, but Seattle came up short on every one of their drives as well. Neither team could run the ball in the first half which speaks well of both defenses. The refing did sway the momentum in favor of the Steelers, but if Seattle deserved it, they would have overcome.
