Is there a video of this somewhere? I've never done a C&J, dumbell or not.

It's just like a clean and jerk but with dumbbells. There's a video on the main page under exercises for a barbell C&J.

Actualy I have a DB C&J question also. After you clean the weight to your shoulders, do you have to stand straight up before dipping down again for the jerk or could you just clean it and while standing up from the clean, jerk it overhead or would this just be a clean thruster?

Troy,

Sounds to me it's more like a "clean thruster"(like you said). That's just my opinion though.

I'm with Brian on this...that'd be a clean/thruster IMO. Gotta do the second "dip" to make it a clean and jerk.

Part of that jerk/thruster issue has to do with a second knee bend on the lock out (making it a jerk) or if it is more a push press movement there is no rebend with either the catch phase or the press phase.

As one fatigues the jerk becomes more and more prominent.
