crossfit trainer full time?

Hey everyone i have a question about crossfit trainers who work for their crossfit location full time. I am currently a trainer at a "big box gym" making a good living and being recruited by a local crossfit to work their full time. I do crossfit workouts daily and love the program, but am wondering if it is possible to make a living as a full time trainer with crossfit not an owner. thanks in advance for any info.

I am a full-time CF trainer, and it works for me. As long as they are offering you enough money to survive, I say go for it.

They are offering me 80% take home for personal training sessions and $30 per crossfit class i teach. That sound about right?

Re: crossfit trainer full time?

I don't think anyone but you can decide if it's a smart decision Chase, because it's based on information only you can know. Will you have enough clients to make a living? How many classes will you be teaching? What's your monthly budget and will you earn enough to cover it? Has this affiliate been in business long enough you're confident it's not going anywhere? Is there an ability to move up within this company (and do you want to)?

Re: crossfit trainer full time?

thank you for the feedback... A huge thing going for me is the crossfit is very close to the current gym i am working at so i believe that all of my clients will follow me. And with room to grow thats a yes. If i take the position i will plan on opening a crossfit of my own with in 8-12 months. Is there anyone else who has advise for me?

All I can say is make sure not to burn bridges with the Crossfit gym you will be working for when you decide to open your own.

def. do not plan on burning any bridges. I have already talked to the owner and told him what my goals where so there is no problem there.

Re: crossfit trainer full time?

So what's the advantage for you to go work for him for 8 months and then leave as opposed to staying where you are for 8 months?

And what's the advantage to the CrossFit affiliate owner?
