I may start a manufacturing business in an urban setting, with a large facility (at least 100,000 square feet). Crime and vandalism could be an issue. I have a "two birds/one stone" idea. As part of the factory, have a crossfit facility for the workforce, but also allow free access (24/7) for policemen, firefighters, etc. I get a workforce which could take advantage of cross fit, and also build good relationships with police and others and give back something to them for their service to the public. Of course I get a better secured site due to the presence of law enforcement on my site. Has anyone tried this idea?

Working in LE, I can tell you even if you offered a 50% discount, you would be overrun with LE personell. We love to get hooked up, plain and simple. Please build in Houston.

I used to be a night manager at a Taco Bell, and we *always* gave LEOs free food, to encourage their presence.

Of course, with Taco Bell food as your only drawing card, that didn't help much. We still got robbed about 2 or 3 times / year.
