FGB Charity Event - Delray Beach, FL
Mods, I hope this is OK to post. It is a charity event held by CrossFit Delray Beach. (I am not "with" the affiliate, I just chose to post it here on behalf of the charity.)
Miracle In 3 Rounds:
Fight Gone Bad Fundraiser for the Milagro Center. (FYI, Milagro means "miralce", hence the name of the event.)
At CrossFit Delray Beach, we encourage members to embrace culture and community both inside and outside of our facility. In creating this event, we are able to do both. We have chosen to raise awareness (and funds) for the Milagro Center of Delray Beach (www.milagrocenter.org (wfs)) because we feel this deserving center aligns very closely with our own values: Just as we provide a unique and creative training ground for physical preparedness in daily life - the Milagro Center is committed to providing unique and creative programs which foster both mental and physical preparedness for disadvantaged kids who live in our city. Even if you are unable to participate in the event, please consider making a donation in the name of a friend or family member who is competing. Thank you for your support!

What is "Fight Gone Bad"?
The CrossFit workout for this event will be the notorious "Fight Gone Bad". In this workout, you will complete as many reps as possible in one minute at each of five stations. After one minute of work, you will immediately rotate to the next station until you have completed all five stations; this cycle constitutes one round. The entire workout calls for 3 ROUNDS and lasts for exactly 17 minutes. The clock does not stop as you rotate between stations but there will be a one minute rest between rounds. One point is given for each rep (except for on the rower where each Calorie is worth one point); your goal is to score as many points as possible in 3 Rounds.
Who should compete?
EVERYBODY. The event has been divided into three competetive levels: BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, and ADVANCED. We are able to scale and modify our workouts so that EVERYBODY can share in this incredible experience. At this time, we are offering 4 HEATS in each division (with room for 12 competitors per HEAT):
This category will cater to first-time CrossFitters or those who have never before done this particular WOD. Weights will be scaled and modified and there will be additional coaches on hand to ensure correct form and flow.
This category is reserved for CrossFitters (members and visiting affiliates) who are proficient in the basic CrossFit exercises, but who are not yet using Rx (prescribed) weights. The weights for this category will allow for 10/12 lb Wall Balls, 35/45 lb Push Press and High Pulls, and Step-Ups on the boxes.
This category is reserved for the fire breathers! Men and Women will compete separately, and ONLY Rx weights will be supplied. The prescribed (Rx) weights for this category are as follows:
7:45 AM - On Site Registration
8:00 AM - Group Warmup and Demonstration for BEGINNERS
8:30 AM - BEGINNER HEATS START
10:30 AM - INTERMEDIATE HEATS START
12:30 PM - ADVANCED HEAT WOMENS START
1:30 PM - ADVANCED HEAT MENS START
REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS:
CrossFit Delray Beach is looking for volunteers to help run this event. Here are the positions we are looking to fill:
Volunteers will register participants on site, collect fees, give them t-shirt, and ensure they know when and where their heat starts
Sponsor / Vendor Management:
Volunteers will ensure all of our participating vendors/sponsors are set up and organized during the event
Fundraiser Awareness Partner:
We will be requesting donations/gifts from local vendors. We would like to offer some incredible/ reative prizes to the top scorers in each division. Please let us know if you or someone you know might be interested in donating to this exciting event.
We would like to invite a few friends of CrossFit Delray Beach to participate onsite during the event. Please speak with me directly about this opportunity.
See link for contact information at bottom (I do not want to post someone else's contact info in an open forum).
