To put a final note on this subject, I had to make a second set of rings for the 3 y.o.

2 30" lengths of 1" PVC heated 3-5 minutes in oven @ 350F duct tape ends before heating to minimize fluting of PVC ends, wrap around 2 10 lb plates on barbell, pinch in middle to minimize flattening, douse in cool pool of water to harden, fish a 12' long lashing strap through PVC handle and rig over a high bar. Total time spent 10 minutes,

PVC pipe= $1.70, Pair of 12" lashing straps = $6.75. total $8.50. You can't beat that.

PS- you can even re-heat the handle to adjust shape.

Re: Purse rings for gymnastics rings

Intitially posted this under another posting heading, more about Tyler's rings, but after more searching, thought I'd post it under this header to see what sort of input I could get. Sorry for the double posting.

Hello all. My first posting here after many a day of lurking and reading. Finally got around to building my pull up/dip station for the back yard and I am looking to add some rings. My buddy gave me some purse rings, can someone post some pics on how the to attach them to the webbing? I noticed on Tyler's that the webbing goes through a slot in the ring, and the webbing goes through the inside of the PVC rings, does it really matter if the ring is not totally stationary on the webbing?

Thanks all in advance for the help. I'll post some pics soon of the pull up bar and the like.

Sam

The plastic ones I ordered are nice and light, so I can travel with 'em, and pretty stout. I just gotta hit them with some light sandpaper to get a little of the slickness outta them, then go to REI for some nylon strapping and some line, and I'll be in like Flynn!
I cant find the ring where is it again?

This is a great idea.

What about straps? Does this look good?
