Post workout you should have protein + Creatine + Carbs (1-2 bananas). CBL, Renegade, and EatToPerform all recommend that.

In the Backloading book it says if you workout in the morning to just have protein post-workout.

Yes, but it depends on your goals. If your goal is pure fat loss, then just have protein. But if you are trying to gain strength, one banana won't kill you.

I couldn't make it 2 days without carbs post 5:30am workout. I did feel good on the workouts while loading the night before. But I never really had an energy problem before during the workouts so its hard to say I feel better.

I'm just trying to figure out why he constantly calls Carb backloading and the Renegade Diet Fad Diets, then posts links to studies stating the same things as these "Fad Diets".
