Who has leaned out just by cutting dairy?

Looking for personal experience. Dairy is my last point of resistance to going full blown Paleo.

I've pretty much eliminated dairy. Every so often I'll let some small amount of cheese slip into a salad, and every few days I'll have maybe a 1/2 cup of milk, but that's really about it. I was never all that hooked on dairy in the first place.

I've gone from ~240lbs in October to 200lbs today, adding on plenty of muscle along the way. I'm still not lean-lean by any means, but I'd say that going Paleo-ish (and basically no dairy) has been a major contributor to losing over 40lbs of fat.

Did Paleo with heavy cream in my coffee (like 4-6 cups a day, 1-2 tbsp organic heavy cream per cup); also had cheese now and then, but not a whole lot. When I cut dairy out, lost 10lbs in 1 month without any other changes in workout or diet.

Lol! Noooooooooo! Not at all. Thank you for your post. Tom's was just very definitive regarding the difference in cutting out dairy.

I've managed to get plenty lean without cutting out dairy

I just like it too damn much (although I have reduced the amount I consume)

And on the opposite end of the spectrum, I went full, strict, non-dairy Paleo for over a month and didn't lose a single pound. I did feel like crap though.

Now for the last month+ I've been drinking nearly a GOMAD, and I eat a lot of yogurt, and I haven't gained a single pound. In fact I've lost about 5 pounds (hard to tell if it that's "real" weight loss of just fluctuation at this point), and I haven't felt this good in a long time.

I have had a similar experience to John's. I've added cottage cheese and cream into my diet and I haven't gained any weight and I've felt better.

I say just experiment with it. Find what works for you. You might cut the dairy and lean out really fast, or you cut the dairy and... nothing changes.
