The 40 pounds I've lost. If I don't pay attention and work hard, they will come back.

Occasionally, the quote that's on a banner in the Police Academy gym:

"The more you sweat here, the less you'll bleed on the street."

James, I prefer the older version

"The more blood spilled in practice, the less in battle."

That, too. Everyone knows the fat, slow ones get eaten by zombies first.

Seriously.
Ditto Brock!

Also, being that I am still a kid at heart, it is more of a continued fantasy I have had about keeping in shape throughout my life so as to be like some of my childhood heroes, ie: Bruce Lee, Spiderman, Captain America and Batman to name a few. Even more importantly, it’s to stick to a promise I made to myself as a young teenager to always stay in shape as much as possible no matter how crazy my life became. Now at 49, I can at least look back over the years at that particular aspect of my life and be pleased that I have been respectably steady in that endeavor. I give myself a little internal smile every time my daughters tell me that I don’t look anything like their friends dads. Also, my ego won’t allow me to turn into a big fat tub of goo.

Well said Mike. I have relatives stationed at Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point and a very motivated daughter going to Parris Island next year. Thanks for serving Mike & Dale.

You dont have to swim faster then the shark. You have to swim faster then the guy next to you.

You can deter a shark. Not so with a zombie.

But, uh, I guess zombies are opportunistic feeders. Being faster than your buddy will help.

However, if you get caught by a true zombie... you're pretty slow and didn't have much of a chance in the first place.
