Survivors of the 80's BEWARE!

Thought I'd share this with my favorite group of friends.

I have a 12 year old daughter, very into fashion now, or what she and her friends call fashion anyway. It's getting chilly in the mornings here now in the desert. As we were getting ready to leave the house yesterday morning, I noticed she had her jeans rolled up to just below her knees. Whatever. I said, it's only 40 degrees, you're gonna be cold (in my Daddy voice).... to which she replied......... (and I'm being dead serious).....

"I need some of them leg warmer thingies. Have you seen those Dad? They go on the bottom of your legs to......."

I stopped her and said..... "Yeah..........seen 'em. Are you serious?"...........

Leg warmers.

Re: Survivors of the 80's BEWARE!

My daughter is 12 as well and it is very funny to see some of the fashion choices from the 80's coming back! It's also fun to listen to her Ipod because among the Lil Wayne, Gwen Stefani, and Justin Timberlake, she's got some Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, and 80's Madonna.

The other day she was singing the song "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. I asked her where she had heard that because that song was around when I was a kid! She said they played it at her school dance and all the kids love that song...too funny!!

No to the leg warmers, but I've always been a fan of the sweatshirt off to the one shoulder. Flashdnacer left a big impression on me, dancer and welder, yummy.

Speaking of Flashdance, my kid is also into 80's movies right now...we've got Footloose sitting at home waiting to be watched!

And filmed in Pgh, too.

My six year old has leg warmers.
The new twist is arm warmers, which look like leg warmers, but they're for the arms.

Yes I know, I'm still looking.

Kevin Bacon rocks in that movie. Quick Silver is good too.

Re: Survivors of the 80's BEWARE!

bell bottoms made a come back, so why not leg warmers?

I still have a fond memory of "Nothing gets between me and my Jordache". And that started me down the path of innuendos and double entendres.
