Re: Official Logsitall.com Thread - Post Here!

I think Im a bit dense tonight, but how do I edit a log entry? Due to a slight error I am now the top ranked person for Filthy Fifty.

Also, What would be the best way to enter WOD's from 2006? Im working on entering my logs from July 11 2006 and on.

Thanks!

Nick

Re: Official Logsitall.com Thread - Post Here!

nick - right from your main log page there should be a link titled 'edit' - this will let you modify times, etc. if for some reason that doesn't work, there is also a way to delete the result entirely on the same page.

let me know if for some reason these aren't showing up in your log.

Thanks.
wade:

i'll work on cycle by miles tonight.

rowing by distance is already in place... but it doesn't work in a standard way.
on the standings page, select rowing. then in the configuration box, enter the distance you want to rank into the meters field, then select 'time - lowest is best'.

this will generate the ranking for that (or any) distance. please let me know how you make out.

Re: Official Logsitall.com Thread - Post Here!

I've wanted to post support of Logsitall before, and sadly didn't get to it. :-( I just wanted to say I believe it's an awesome project and I'd like to see more people using it.

Just now, I tried to run a search on it and couldn't get it to work.

I want to look up all the 400 meter run times saved in Logsitall. I went to "Standings," chose "Run (km)" fom "Select Activity" menu.

In the search fields, entered "0.4" under KM. I've also tried "400" and ".400" and "0.400".

I manage to get 2 entries, with "0.4". (Not including my own, and I know I have entries under "0.4" and ".400".

I tried 400 in the comments field, that just gets an error message. Pretty frustrating, can't get it to work. Also, I don't buy the necessity of having 2 Run tables, one Run (km) and another Run (miles). Rather, one table, and km, meters, miles, or yards selected from a drop-down menu.

Sorry to be griping! Have you thought about trying to open development up, getting some co-developers?

Again, I strongly support Logsitall, I want to see it developed and used.

Re: Official Logsitall.com Thread - Post Here!

kirez:

thanks for the post - sorry the 4k standing didn't work for you.

This is the link to the 4k standing (such as it is...)

http://www.logsitall.com/stats-embed...d&ag=0&mmx=min

and these are the results:
Position Total Time Sex Age Body
weight Gym Affil.
[1] Simon Warnos Photo 0 mins 54 secs M 25 170
[2] Aaron Trent Photo 1 min 4 secs M 22 132 Carolina Crossfit
[3] Bryan Ragon Photo 1 min 7 secs M 32 160 CrossFit Charlotte
[4] Jake Malone Photo 1 min 24 secs M 34 235
[5] Sam Friedman Photo 1 min 25 secs M 21 210
[6] matt m Photo 1 min 25 secs M 28 200 lakewood ymca

The trick is to enter .4 just as you did, but then select 'time, lowest is best'.

That way you are looking for the fastest time, where distance = .4

The majority of the run entries are to 5 or 10k. as always, more data=more better.

the reason your two .4 entries aren't showing up are that:
1. the first entry in your logbook has .4 as the distance, but no time or date info.
2. the second entry has the distance 0.400 - for some reason the system doesn't think that 0.400 = 0.4 or .4
that is a bug - the 'distance' is being treated as a text field, instead of a number. i'll work on that one.

until then, if you edit your log entries to .4 you'll find your results alongside the others.

Please let me know how you make out.

Re: Official Logsitall.com Thread - Post Here!

Thanks, Bill.

So... I have an entry for 0.4 K (and I accidentally made a 2nd entry, or at least my log says so, for the same distance --- one of them is 0.4 k and the other might be .400 k), but I don't show up on that list. I didn't opt to keep the entry private. What do you suppose happened? Er, I guess I should ask, what did I do wrong?

(perhaps automating standardized entries, like 400m and 800m and 5k and 10k, would encourage more entries? I was a little put off by needing to enter "0.4 K")

Re: Official Logsitall.com Thread - Post Here!

I see that if I search on "0.4" under KM I get one set of results (3), and if I search on ".4" I get a different set of results. So this is simply an issue of defining the data type for the field, right? INT, TINYINT, MEDIUMINT, SMALLINT, VARCHAR, DECIMAL, TEXT --- I'm guessing you chose VARCHAR or TEXT (wouldn't TEXT explain the results I got?). Again, it seems like it would make sense to predefine (sorry I don't have the right terms) a 400m field, locked with the TIME entries; same structure with 5K, 10K, 100m, 200m, 800m, 1 mile, etc.

Re: Official Logsitall.com Thread - Post Here!

kirez:

you are correct - and nice use of SQL vars! in the early days of logsitall we had people putting in .4m and 0.4meters etc. because i didn't have the system locked down. we have since changed the data structure for most of the numeric entries - and then gone through and retroactively cleaned out the non-numeric bit of existing ones...

in terms of locking down the field to specific entries - you would be suprised at the diversity of distances that are already being put in - moving to a drop down for distances is a good idea - maybe two for:
kilomters (drop down) | meters (drop down).

that way you could choose to have run a
1.5 k with two drop down - eliminating any odd entries.

we're still plugging away - thanks for the patience and support... hard to get this right the first time.
