Anyone know why I can't put up an avatar? I put a picture up on my profile a while ago, but I can't seem to figure out why I can't put it, or any other pictures up as my avatar.

I think Lynne said there is a problem with the pearl cgi that handles avatars. It would be nice if it got fixed I am sick of my old avatar but when I try and post a new one my old one comes up. I am sure there is a workaround.

Seems kinda odd, because I've seen many of the new forums members signing up with avatars, yet the people who are already members seem to be unable to change theirs.

The first avatar you post will show up. Any subsequent changes will not take. Bug in the software.

But my avatar isn't the first one I had. I successfully changed it once, many months ago.

The problem arose when they moved to the new server since this occured they've had several different problems. The avatar being one of them. I've spoken to Lynne about it and the techs have not been able to solve it. I think its been a case of poor technical support or most probably sheer laziness on their part but who knows, its not my server so I shouldn't complain too much...

I had trouble changing mine and I am not sure exactly how I did it, but it involved deleting my old one log out, then log back in, repeat several times, add new pic, log out and log in several times, add new pic again. Then somehow by magic i appeared. Then every once and a while my old one would show up then the new one again.

Maybe that will help somebody.
