Adam's Spartan preparation

My friend and I are going to be Spartans for Halloween and are planning on doing the Zone strict with no cheat meals for the month of October. We both do the Zone right now, while incorporating cheat meals once to twice a week. I will only be eating foods from the first page of the Zone diet, and nothing from the unfavorable carbs page. I will also be cutting coffee out of my diet.

We will be posting our diet and WOD's on here, as well as some great recipes that we have both come up with.
If you wish to do the challenge as well, feel free to post your accomplishments here.

Stats: Adam 26yo, 6', 170lbs, 6% body fat.
ZONE:
19 blocks a day. 5-2-5-2-5

WODS:
2:56 Fran (no butterfly)
7:47 Helen (200 meter hill)
20:27 Filthy Fifty

Re: Adam's Spartan preparation

*I did the Virtual Shoveling one again last night because James beat me when I was there and I was talking crap to him before so I had to redeem myself. It was a stupid decision but I got 8:34 +/- a couple seconds. The only reason I beat him was because I put multiple collars on the bar so the weight wouldnt slide off.*

1 Oct.

Zone:
Breakfast: 6am
Pro: 6 egg whites 2oz cheese
Carb: 2 cups green beans, 3 cups strawberries
Fats: 30 peanuts

Snack: 9:15am
Pro: 1 ˝ slices deli turkey (14g)
Carb: 1 apple
Fats: 30 peanuts

Lunch: 12noon
Pro: 3 ˝ slices deli turkey (35g)
Carb: 3 cups strawberries, 1 cup grapes
Fats: 30 peanuts.

Snack: 3:15am
Pro: 1 ˝ slices deli turkey (14g)
Carb: 1 apple
Fats: 30 peanuts

Dinner: 6:30pm
Pro: 5oz steak (filet mignon)
Carb: 24 asparagus, 2 cup green beans, 1 1/3 cup cooked spinach
Fats: 1teaspoon OVOO, 12 peanuts(crushed on asparagus)

James and I decided that we were going to do the WOD today at 5:30pm so I will post after.

Re: Adam's Spartan preparation

Hey Adam! I'm watching this log, just so you know... Josh needs to start posting on here too so that we can track his progress as well.

Great job on beating James last night! He's an absolute beast so that's a huge accomplishment.

I'll be in the corner doing my SS tonight, so I hope to see you two going at it just as fiercely as you did last night.

Re: Adam's Spartan preparation

Holy Geez!! Josh is a tremendous athlete, and has come a LONG way, but when you compare to somebody like Speal...well, that's just not fair!

Looking forward to hearing how you do!

Total reps 'o pullups: 133.

Back is pretty sore from the shovel WOD x 2, two days ago, so holding on to the bar was really uncomfortable. I was going to try and get 8 rounds in, but it didnt happen.

Zone:
Breakfast: 6am
Pro: 6 egg whites 2oz cheese
Carb: 2 cups green beans, 3 cups strawberries
Fats: 30 peanuts

Snack: 9:15am
Pro: 1 ˝ slices deli turkey (14g)
Carb: 1 apple
Fats: 30 peanuts

Lunch: 12noon
Pro: 3 ˝ slices deli turkey (35g)
Carb: 3 cups strawberries, 1 cup grapes
Fats: 30 peanuts.

Snack: 3:15am
Pro: 1 ˝ slices deli turkey (14g)
Carb: 1 apple
Fats: 30 peanuts

Dinner: 6:30pm
Pro: 5oz steak (filet mignon)
Carb: 12 asparagus, 1 can green beans, 2 1/2 cups broccoli
Fats: 1 2/3 teaspoon butter on broc.

Tonight's WOD:
30 Muscle Up's for time.
(will post later)
As a reference: Josh an I were looking at Speal's time, 8:34 +/- a few seconds, and I said, "That isnt that fast, I expected better from him!" Then I scrolled down...It was with a 20lb weight vest.
Unbelieveable...
