Personally I don't do the warm-up (I do warm-up, I just do my own, which includes elements of the Crossfit warmup but isn't as tough - all those chins and dips would be a full-on workout for me). Crossfit is all about scaling so feel free to scale your warm-up as well as your WoD. Just makesure your muscles are thoroughly warmed, is all.

i dont do it either. i usually am all warmed up from a run or bike ride or something.
if its super heavy lifts, i ease into that, but nothing formal.

If you can't do the Rx'd warm up, then it's not a warm up for you, it's a workout, and it's already too hard.

So I would agree with the previous posts. Warming up is pretty important, doing the official crossfit warm up is not. Find out what works for you and do that.

I did the CFWU for a good 2 months before tackling WODs in any major fashion. After that I jumped right in, but if I had it to do again I would get into scaling right away.

for warmup, i do assisited dips and pull-ups on machine, might that work for you? i am a little surprised that in 2 weeks i've improved a lot with the pull-ups. also try "jump pull-ups."
