Good fitness books on Kindle?

I just got several Dan John books on Kindle, and I noticed most of Pavel's books are available. I also got "The Sports Gene" - which looks interesting.

I notice there are a ton of "CrossFit" kindle books, but many have very mixed reviews.

I'm wondering if anyone else here has recommendations for good fitness/exercise books on the Kindle.

Exercise Physiology: Nutrition, Energy, and Human Performance by McArdle, Katch & Katch. (wfs)

It might be a bit too sciencey for some and it's quite expensive, but it covers just about everything you could ever want to know about exercise physiology and sports nutrition.

Re: Good fitness books on Kindle?

Thanks!

I'm finding I like fiction on the kindle, but not the exercise/fitness books so much. The screen isn't really big enough for a lot of the diagrams, and it's harder to mark two or three spots and slip back and forth to compare (especially when they say "compare this with what we did back in chapter 2" or things like that).

Any of Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 books.

If you are interested in increasing muscle mass Brad Schoenfeld's M.A.X. Muscle Plan is a great one. I know it isn't the typical crossfit type thing but there are plenty of threads around here about packing on muscle and looking better.

Re: Good fitness books on Kindle?

I recently read Learning to Breath Fire by J.C. Herz, an accomplished journalist/writer who is a CrossFitter. The book wanders through CrossFit culture for the most part, but I thought it was a great read. Good info about the history of CrossFit and some of its athletes. I was particularly intrigued by the Chapter on Rogue Fitness--did not know so much engineering and advanced technology went into making the equipment we use. It is a great book for when you want a change of pace from learning exercise and fitness to just enjoying learning about some of the history of CrossFit and some of its athletes.

I got "Inside the Box" and "Learning to Breathe Fire."

I have hard copies and pdfs of the 5/3/1 books. Great strength programming there.
