Re: Sharknado

Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine:

I guess I could see it either way, those are not very wide decks so it might very well be easier (and obviously it would be safer) to mount the pullup bars (assuming a full rig?) by the soccer field to the east. Then they'd just have to take down the fence there and they'd be set. I could be entirely off base though.

Re: Sharknado

Jeff you should definitely try that workout. I'm guessing there will be at least 1 ex college swimmer in the crossfit games that will surprise everyone and take it easily. These guys come from all different backgrounds. You can say you beat Rich Froning at a workout if you do it!

What up with the second one? Is that just a random row distance? I'd say with those first 2 workouts there's a good chance the champ won't be in the lead after day 1. Exciting!

Edit - wow are they serious about a 20K row??? that is going to suck so much

Jeff is good at rowing also haha

Re: Sharknado

No way I'm touching a half-marathon row unless its compulsory for a competition though!

And, I actually did find an ex-swimmer on the roster - Jordan Troyan swam for West Chester University (also DII like me) - looks like he was a IMer like myself and just a couple seconds slower than me in those events.

Re: Sharknado

I would also get an incomplete on workout 1 because I can't even do 1 bar muscle up

Is there some trick to these I don't understand? I can easily knock out ring muscle ups

I saw that you posted the vids but I am to busy to watch at the moment. I will though just to busy right now.

As for the row, count me out, I have only been on a rower a few times, no way I try that thing.

Bar MUs you need to kip stomach to bar not chest to bar. Bigger kip. The second reps is easier then the first.
