hey,

so ive been reading about the fruit acai, and i havent found anybody giving any credible info on the fruit itself except for the fact that its incredibly energizing. i was wondering what the glycemic value may be and what the omega ratios were? any other benefits? thanx

Although acai tastes great, it is not just the fruit you are tasting. It is mixed with guarana syrup. By itself, the acai fruit is not very palatable. As you can probably imagine, as served (with the syrup) it is loaded with sugar. I love the stuff and have eaten a ton of it during my trips to Brazil. However, I also love hot fudge sundaes and those aren't too good for you either.

Hmm.. where is this grown, anyways?

Also, has anyone tried Noni extract at all? I hear it's supposed to help recovery time...

I tried noni...hmm, how to describe the taste...an old shoe with a dead rat inside....yes, an d extract of that with a hint of grape.

I have not thrown Noni into pubmed to check on antioxidant studies and what not...that is a good place to start.

Yeah, noni tastes like ***, but I've heard great things about it. I've only tried it once, so I can't say I felt any grand effects so far (plus my brother bought a cheap Kroger Noni-offshoot). There's a guy named Joe Eigo who took it and liked it so much he started selling it.
