I am wondering about the lean in the side press. How much should be used? Specifically, I am worried about my spine. How much side lean is good? Can injury be caused by pressing with a certain amount of lean?

Injuries can be caused by lots of things. The side press has neer been a issue for me, and I have had a few SI joint issues in the past. I use lots of lean, although I really don't do this often anymore.

So keep your alignment, start very light and be careful. If there is a preexisting injury, don't try it until you are fully comfortable.

What are SI joint issues?

The movement is fairly comfortable, though.

joint between your sacrum and iliacus...I think that's how you spell them. Basically it connects your butt bones to your spine,..or something like that.
