New Body-Weight Strength Blog (Bar-barians)

Bar-barians BlogYOU MUST ENSURE YOU ANNOTATE ALL LINKS WHETHER WORK AND FAMILY SAFE.

We just started a new blog dedicated to all aspects of bodyweight training: strength endurance, gymnastics (especially ring work), climbing, even bboy power moves. It's work safe and updated daily. I started it mostly because there was no central repository to find all of the creative and impressive videos that are scattered around the web, hopefully this site will remedy that problem.

Here's a recent clip of one of our members Zef:

This is something to aspire to. These guys make pull ups look like taking a nap.

I wonder though if they literally always worked out in the playgrounds or just developed gymnastic skills somewhere else first.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. I love this stuff too and end up surfing for these types of links all the time anyway so the blog kind of writes itself.

Well the clip I posted is of Zef, he has been working on the bar for a few years now, but prior to that he was serious about weight training, so he was already strong. However, he doesn't have any formal gymnastics background.

I think all of us lifted weights before we got into bodyweight strength. I was also on my high school gymnastics team, but I was a total scrub. At the time I thought I was getting away with something by racking up an extracurricular activity with minimal time investment. Now though I just wonder how much further along I could have been if I had a good start way back then.
