Stop Injuriing human bodies

What college degree (major) do owners of this "Cross Fit" maintain or do they take the charge of human body without knowledge of human physiology and anatomy?

What college degree does any personal trainer or gym owner maintain?... oh that's right, none.

There are good trainers and bad trainers in crossfit, globo gyms, or ANY sport you might care to check into, the bad ones who injure their trainees are the ones who are going to get press, nobody cares to report stories about the trainers with a perfect record.

Kelley Starrett seems to know something about human physiology and anatomy:
http://www.sanfranciscocrossfit.com/coaches.php

In my case (I'm 62, with many prior injuries) crossfit methology has allowed me to be much more fit and functional than before. Please read the articles on the website and talk to a few people (like Kelley) before jumping to conclusions.

What college degree (major) do owners/founders of this "Microsoft" and "Oracle" and "Apple" maintain or do they take the charge of computer software without knowledge of turing completeness and computability?

Well, to the OPs point, KStar actually is a doctor...

Re: Stop Injuriing human bodies

Last time I checked, no one but me was "taking charge" of my human body in the gym. But, maybe I'm mistaken...

Perhaps some of us don't have HUMAN bodies...

This is how you introduce yourself to the forum members?

What college degree taught you how to spell the word "injuring?"

Re: Stop Injuriing human bodies

I can see where the OP is coming from as well as the other responses. Just because someone has a degree does not make them an expert. Experience often offers more than schooling. But where I can take side with the OP is that there truly is a lot more to taking someone through a workout than just showing them the motions. I have seen countless personal trainers put their clients through downright dangerous exercises. Be it horrendous form, difficulty level too high, or compromising the body, to name just a few.

I have a degree in human biology and will soon be a doctor of chiropractic, but I certainly would not suggest that just because I have extensive knowledge of the human body that I could successfully train people using Crossfit (I've never done it myself). However, coupled with my education and experience (I'm checking out a local box next week), I would feel very competent as a Crossfit instructor, eventually.

All and all it's pretty difficult to say what requirements are needed to be competent at anything. For me, I like to have experience and book knowledge. But there are plenty of successful people in almost all professions without a piece of paper with their name on it.
