Tuesday will be my first day of eating in the Zone. I have been quietly lurking and working the WOD trying to get a little better with each WOD. I am to a point where I am ready to change my diet.

So tonight after I get out of work (0200 EST) I am going shopping becasue my fridge is empty except for my bottle of water and a few eggs.

Changing cause it feels like now is the time to max my potential with Crossfit and the Zone.

Eggs, tuna, and turkey are your friends.

If you get hungry, buy broccoli in bulk.

If you fall off the wagon for a meal - no problem - next meal you can pick up where you left off.

I bought the book Zone Meals in Seconds and am using the 3 blocks meals to get started. I will tweak the blocks if I need to in a week or two. But I think it will be close to what I need.

most fruit juices are pretty high on the glycemic index, seeing as how all the fiberous bulk has been stripped from them, so a block of carbs via fruit juice is somewhere around 1/3 of a cup, if I'm not mistaken...that's a surefire way to stay hungry, if you ask me ;)

You could go with Crystal Lite, diet soft drinks are ok in moderation (although Robb would disagree), tea (iced and hot), coffee (fire away you anti coffee nazis). Water should be your main beverage.

Thanks for all of the help! I am trying to break my one a day diet coke fix. I am mostly drinking water. This will be good once I get into the routine of it all. And with the WOD thrown into the mix I will be making gains on a daily basis.
:-)

Once you get away from all the juices and soda you won't crave them any more. If I do end up drinking any kind of juice, I end up watering it down because it is too sweet for me.

I would say stick to water and green tea. I personally do skim milk as well... but then I am a heathen.

But I am with Robb on shooting people who would okay soft drinks (Larry) *grin*.

For the first few months though stick to water...
