Re: The bacon thread

My girl moved in with me a few months ago - she never used to eat breakfast. I cook a pound of bacon and eggs every morning - she's hooked!

This thread reminds me of a "King of Queens" episode I saw once when somebody asked Kevin James about the diet he used to lose a ton of weight and he said "If I'd have known I could eat a pound of bacon a day and lose weight I would have done this 20 years ago!"

Re: The bacon thread

Bacon is food that makes other food better. Salads, scallops, filet mignon, baked 'taters, vodka. Life.... It's better with bacon.

Re: The bacon thread

Hi everyone.

My name is Michael Whities.

I've been addicted to bacon for the last 33 years.

I first tasted the sweet taste bacon when I was 3 years old.

I've been eating it since then, almost everyday.

Thanks for having me today.

That is all.

Re: The bacon thread

Well, I guess there's really no where else for a guy like me to start but here. I love bacon. It is the ultimate meat, and provides the ultimate cooking fat. I like to render a couple of slices out, then pull them out of the pan, then cook my eggs in the fat, and chop up the bacon and mix it right in. I sear my chili grind in the fat from ancho cured bacon, then puree the bacon with some kidney beans and throw it right in. My favorite is the Jalapeno-garlic uncured from my local Whole Paycheck.

My Brother-In-Law is a partner in a gourmet food truck called Bacon Mania. Everything's got bacon. The menu includes a deep fried bacon wrapped trio of peppercorn and blue cheese filet mignon, macaroni and cheese (with bacon, of course), and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They also have a slider whose patty is equal parts beef, lamb, and (cooked) bacon, ground together. Candied bacon? Check. Bacon brownies? Check.
