Do I detect a hint of sarcasm?

Yeah, it's not like the guys who specialize in working with medicine balls in many different ways might know a thing or two more about them than the people who use them once a month or so for throwing in the air.

That's all well and good. I'll seek their advice when I feel like I need to use a medicine ball for more than throwing in the air.

I know someone who made one of these. It really didn't have much weight to it at all. I think he said it was 11#s but it felt more like 8-9#'s.

Re: Where to purchase wallballs

I made mine a while ago...used playground sand from Lowe's...which I think for a 35 or 40 lb bag was less than $10.00. Mine weighs in at 21lbs I think. I made a smaller one out of a mini-basketball for my wife at the same time, which is around 13lbs. Lasted a while so far...

They may know a thing or 2 about them but I don't think anyone is actually asking them. If we wanted their opinion on what weight to use we would....just ask them.

All they need to do is keep their opinions to themselves and provide the product to the customer and gladly take their $$$ which they are very good at doing.

his 10 elements of fitness are pretty foundational to the crossfit methodology, and are in the free CFJ and on nearly every affiliate's website. jim is very knowledgeable. i wouldn't be so quick to disregard him.

Re: Where to purchase wallballs

I bought 2K of Dynamax med-balls this year and wished I hadn't. The product has been outstanding but I'm not doing any more business with someone who openly disparages what we do with such obvious contempt. The ironic thing was I could have saved money and purchased Rage balls or another knock-off but didn't because I felt a debt of gratitude to Jim Cawley. This gratitude evaporated after the monkey thread. Buy Rage or Wright.
