Anyone get Mad Elbow Tendonitis performing muscle ups?

So, I'm back on the muscle up train, and I've developed a mad case of tendonitis in my left elbow--was wondering if this has to do with something in my transition, turning out the false grip under load....

Anyone else have this occur? Is it a skill based workaround or just heal and deal with it?

Re: Anyone get Mad Elbow Tendonitis performing muscle ups?

Yep, this occurs in people whose elbows are not properly prepared for the weight.

Only thing you can do is back off and do tendonitis protocol to improve it wfs

Then work back in slowly. The joints/connective tissues adapt far slower than the muscles, so sometimes your body gets ahead of itself. If so, usually overuse injuries occur like tendonitis. You just have to back off and let your tissues heal then work back into it slowly.

The upside is that you are improving rapidly it seems so don't get too down on your overuse injury. It's a normal part of excellent progress.
