Vitamin Scam

A hand full of firefighters have been approached by a sales person for a Vitamin they claim will do it all. I am pretty damn sure it is B.S. just looking for someone with some expertise in the area to give them a second opinion.

here is the link:
www.idealhealth.com/Custom-Multivitamin/PrivaTest.aspx. YOU MUST ENSURE YOU ANNOTATE ALL LINKS WHETHER WORK AND FAMILY SAFE.

Re: Vitamin Scam

Or you could just get checkups at your doctor...

Urinalysis is valid though. But I'm not sure I would use some random company like that.

Re: Vitamin Scam

Not one of the founders have a healthcare background. ..
love the opening paragraph about them.

The founders of Ideal Health are Todd and Scott Stanwood and Lou DeCaprio. During their 20-year partnership, they have achieved incredible personal success through their dynamic marketing and management skills and their ability to bring people together for a common goal. yeah.. get people to dig into their wallets.

Sorry its snake oil.

Urinary Nitrates–A marker for the regulation of nitric oxide (a compound involved in many body systems including your immune system, nervous system and circulatory system). --- this is part of a standard urine test.. its either negative or postive.. if postive... you have may have a urine infection or kidney issue that needs a further look.

Urinary Lipid Peroxides–A marker for oxidative stress (determines your general antioxidant status). Actually if you test positive for this you have other bigger problems than an antioxidant stress.. more like kidney damage. Which oddly would have been seen on other blood tests that are commonly done.

Urinary Sulfates– take tylenol and this elevates... not sure why somewould randomly test for.

Tell your fire buddies that your better off to spend your money on getting a psa level.

Re: Vitamin Scam

Even if you get tested at your doctor, most people will be deficient in alot of vitamins and mineral given the poor diet, and lack of nutrients in the soil.
I am a chiropractor and get alot of my patients on Vemma, a liquid multi-vitamin, multi-mineral.
Since most people are deficient in most mineral, vitamins, I start patients on this first.
If anyone has any questions, you can email me at drbstrump@aol.com, or check out my site at myvemma.com/drstrump.
There is independent research done showing its 98% bioavailability, and its beneficial effects on cardiovascular disease, in lowering C-reactive protein levels.
Keep in mind that many studies will show that you only absorb 10-30% of what you swallow in pill form, regarding vitamins, minerals, medication, etc.
That's why vitamins, medications, etc. in liquid form are superior in absorption.

Funny how " your website link " gets redirect to a commerical site.

I am surprised that you just dont advocate to people with poor diets just EAT BETTER.

Wow ... I better triple dose my vicodin to get at least 90 percent of the effect.

Frank,

1. It's a commercial site because I am a distributor for the product. There are independent double blind studies to substantiate the claims.
2. EATING BETTER is not as easy as just advocate them to eat better. And even if with the BETTER food intake, the soil is depleted of many of the nutrients that the hunters and gathers that are talked about on the site had the luxury of growing their food.
3. Eat up the Vicodin. If you doubt my comments, ask the pain specialist why they give IV drips of morphine, or Fentanyl patches for pain instead of pills.

Remember what happened to Galileo when he thought the world was flat? They locked him up because they thought he was crazy. Just because it's not something that you hear from the one's you trust doesn't mean it's wrong.
